The house Lohtorstr. 7, 74072 Heilbronn, is located at a historical site. The famous “Lohtor” was one of the city gates at the Neckar form the 15th century onwards. Although demolished in 1844, the name still exists.
The proximity to the city center (only a few 100 meters away from townhall Heilbronn) and still directly located at the river Neckar offers the ideal starting point for for students to live and study.
Various grocery stores (including a discount supermarket and an organic
food store), drug stores, a pharmacy, banks and ATMs, shopping centers,
a cinema and a public indoor swimming pool with SPA facilities are
close-by. The nearest bus and tram stations are Neckar Turm, Rathaus,
Hallenbad Soleo and Europaplatz.
The Neckar promenade along the west side of the house is a pedestrian area (attention, bicycles may be crossing!) with a variety of restaurants. It is also the starting point of the almost 10 km long jogging/running track and the most beautiful boulevard along the Neckar.
The house is only 400m away from Heilbronn University (HHN) and the "Bildungscampus" at Europaplatz which hosts several institutions like German Graduate School of Management and Law (GGS), Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg (DHBW), Center for Advanced Studies (CAS) of DHBW and "Akademie für Innovative Bildung und Management" (AIM). You can reach Europaplatz by walking along the river. The campus of "Akademie für Kommunikation" is also just a short walk away. From the near-by bus and tram stations “Neckar Turm” or “Rathaus” you can take several bus lines which take you directly to the city center as well as to Sontheim campus of Heilbronn University.
